CPM Calculator: Calculate the CPM of Your Ads
Use this tool to calculate the CPM of any campaign in seconds. CPM (cost per mille) is what you pay for every 1,000 ad impressions, and it is the standard way to compare the price of reach across platforms. Solve for CPM, cost or impressions, or put two platforms side by side.
CPM
$5.00
How it's calculated
CPM = (Total cost ÷ Impressions) × 1,000
Divide what you spent by the number of times your ad was shown, then multiply by 1,000 to express the price per thousand impressions. To solve for cost, use CPM × Impressions ÷ 1,000. To solve for impressions, use Cost ÷ CPM × 1,000.
Worked example
You spend $500 on a campaign that delivers 100,000 impressions. CPM = ($500 ÷ 100,000) × 1,000 = $5.00. If a second platform charges an $8 CPM, the same $500 buys only 62,500 impressions, so you pay about 60% more for the same reach. The Compare platforms tab runs this check for any two CPMs.

Frequently asked questions
What is a good CPM?
It depends on the platform and audience. Published benchmarks put TikTok at around $4 to $5 per thousand impressions, Meta and Google at around $15, and narrow B2B audiences such as LinkedIn at around $60. A "good" CPM is one that delivers impressions at a price that still lets clicks and conversions pay back, so judge it alongside CTR and CPA.
How do I calculate CPM?
Divide total ad cost by total impressions and multiply by 1,000. For example, $250 spent on 50,000 impressions is a CPM of $5.
What is the difference between CPM and CPC?
CPM prices reach: you pay per thousand times your ad is shown. CPC prices traffic: you pay per click. CPM campaigns suit awareness goals, while CPC campaigns suit goals where a visit is the point. Use the CPC calculator to price clicks.
What is eCPM?
eCPM (effective CPM) is the revenue earned per 1,000 impressions, the publisher-side version of CPM. The formula is the same: (Revenue ÷ Impressions) × 1,000, so $12 earned from 4,000 impressions is a $3 eCPM.
Why is my CPM so high?
Common causes are a narrow or competitive audience, a peak season such as Q4, low ad relevance or engagement scores, and expensive placements. Broadening the audience, refreshing creative and avoiding peak weeks can bring it down.
